Eagles Wings Ranch is located in South Central Kansas along the Medicine River Valley. It operates 10,000 acres of native grassland. Eagles Wings is family operated and welcomes guest to an informal true working ranch environment. Activities include all the operations of a working ranch including calving of a 200+ head Angus cow herd in Feb-Mar to branding calves in April-May where old ranch roping and dragging is still the way its done. Summer months include pasture riding,checking cattle, putting out salt and mineral with a team of percheon draft horses or a day of riding fence and checking for strays. Evenings can be spent watching wildlife, lounging in the summer breeze or being overwhelmed by the Kansas night sky where the only light you can see is in the heavens above.
Horseback riding will be set by experience and will range from riding in a pen under close supervision, to gathering hundreds of cattle to be moved to fresh grass or gathered to corrals to accommodate working of cows or calves.
Other activities include nature hikes, bike rides, fishing, wildlife watching including whitetail and mule deer, coyotes, hawks and an occasional Golden Eagle, birds of all kinds, raccoons, bobcat, and prairie dogs.
Lodging consist of a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with full kitchen and living area. Meals will begin with a full breakfast to start the day, box lunch on the wagon or under the trees along the river. Evening meals will be full course and include smoked ribs and brisket, steaks, fish and other ranch style cuisine.
